Job summary

AMETEK Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) to lead sourcing, negotiation, award, and execution for complex project buyouts.

The role involves direct-to-site deliveries, supplier performance oversight, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to meet schedules and financial targets. The candidate should have 10+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing or project-based settings, a related bachelor’s degree, and strong negotiation

Qualifications

10+ years procurement experience in manufacturing or project-based environments.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
Experience with engineered-to-order projects and drop-ship/direct-to-site deliveries preferred.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement for project buyouts—from sourcing to execution.
Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
Issue and manage purchase orders aligned with engineering specs and requirements.
Coordinate drop-ship and direct-to-site deliveries for project schedules.
Manage supplier lead times and delivery commitments to meet milestones.
Provide updates on Buyout projects across the organization.
Monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality, and commercial commitments.
Identify and mitigate supply chain, cost, and lead-time risks.
Identify cost reduction opportunities via negotiation and alternative sourcing.
