Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) to lead procurement for large industrial project buyouts. You will source, negotiate, and execute with suppliers, aligning with engineering and project schedules while driving cost containment.

The role requires independent negotiation, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects. You will interface with Project Management, Operations, and Sales to ensure on-time delivery and financial performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing or project-based sourcing.
• Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, engineering, logistics, or operations management.
• Experience with project-based buyouts and high-value negotiations.
• Experience coordinating drop-ship or direct-to-site deliveries.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for assigned project buyouts, including sourcing, negotiation, award, and execution.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations, and negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery, and contractual terms.
• Issue and manage purchase orders for project buyouts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with requirements.
• Coordinate drop-ship and direct-to-site deliveries to support project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality, and commercial commitments.
• Provide updates on Buyout projects across the organization.
