Job summary

AMETEK, Columbus, OH, is seeking a Senior Project Buyer (Buyouts) to lead sourcing, negotiation, and execution of large project buyouts in support of industrial programs.

The role requires 10+ years in procurement, a strong track record of cost reduction, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision; reporting to Procurement Manager and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing or project-based environments.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternative relevant experience considered.
• Experience leading complex negotiations on high-value, project-based purchases.
• Experience with engineered-to-order or industrial projects is a plus.
• Experience with drop-ship or direct-to-site deliveries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for project buyouts, including sourcing, negotiation, award, and execution.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, and negotiate terms (pricing, lead time, delivery).
• Issue and manage purchase orders aligned with specifications and requirements.
• Coordinate drop-ship and direct-to-site deliveries to meet project milestones.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate risks affecting timelines and costs.
