Job summary

Student Union, Inc. of SJSU is seeking an Assistant Director, Student Union Programming to lead planning and execution of weekly programs and large-scale annual events. You will build campus and community partnerships, manage programming budgets, and drive inclusive student engagement.

Reporting to the Director of the Events Center, the role includes staff supervision, contract oversight, risk management, and collaboration with multiple campus partners to advance student success and campus life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience in management personnel, weekly programs and major special events on a college or university campus.
• Current CPR/First Aid and AED certifications required or must be obtained within the first month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Direct department goals and foster innovation to meet Student Union mission and campus needs.
• Plan and coordinate complex events including weekly programs, SpartanFest, concerts, and screenings.
• Develop and maintain annual budget including expenses and settlements.
• Evaluate programs via participant feedback and focus groups for learning outcomes.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and ensure required insurance compliance.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate two full-time coordinators and student assistants.
