Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Sr. Program Manager, Special Projects in Albany, NY to own a portfolio of high-impact programs across engineering, product, and operations.

You will develop charters, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate activities with key stakeholders to ensure timely, on-budget delivery. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a solid technical background with extensive customer-facing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• PMP certification preferred; prior PM coursework/training expected.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressive project/program management experience; three (3) years in a senior/lead role.
• Experience managing program budgets and recommending resource trade-offs.
• Experience with project/resource management software (Smartsheet preferred).
• Customer-facing experience in a highly visible role.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a portfolio of complex, cross-functional programs with schedules, budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
• Lead high-visibility customer programs and cross-company initiatives; serve as primary interface to customers and senior stakeholders.
• Maintain multiple schedules for development projects and product platforms; align with Product Management.
• Develop and maintain program charters, scope documents, and business cases with clear budgets and milestones.
• Coordinate across engineering, product, sales, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and service to set priorities.
