Job summary

California Franchise Tax Board seeks an Assistant Bureau Director to provide senior leadership and oversight of enterprise programs, including IT project governance, business continuity, risk and portfolio management. The role involves formulating policies with the Director, working with the Governance Council, and maintaining relationships with external oversight partners.

Reporting and collaboration with the Franchise Tax Board Board are expected.

Qualifications

Strong leadership and staff development skills
Ability to reconcile complex business needs and liaise between stakeholders and technology partners
Experience guiding business strategies and enterprise solutions
Ability to plan, organize and direct staff in sensitive programs
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse program areas and external partners
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for sensitive issues
Experience presenting to external partners and control agencies
Experience designing performance measurement frameworks and KPIs

Responsibilities

Provide senior leadership and oversight of enterprise programs including IT project governance, business continuity, risk and portfolio management
Formulate and implement policies in alignment with statewide and departmental guidelines
Collaborate with Governance Council and Action Committees on emerging issues
Cultivate relationships with external oversight partners and present to the FTB Board as needed
