Job summary

LSSI is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead child welfare programs in Illinois. The role focuses on strategic planning, training, and budgeting to improve program outcomes while ensuring compliance with DCFS requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or related DCFS/COA acceptable degree required.
  • Background check clearance (criminal and CANTS) required.
  • State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
  • Minimum of three years in a managerial/supervisory role and experience with Child Welfare.
  • Demonstrated ability to display positive organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency as needed by the program and willingness to increase skills.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in strategic planning and goal setting for the programs and develop procedures to enhance effectiveness.
  • Provide supervision, training, support, review and evaluation for Child Welfare Supervisors and other staff.
  • Develop, implement, and be accountable for program budgets and evaluate effectiveness relative to goals.
  • Collaborate with management and network on programmatic, fiscal, organizational and community issues.
  • Maintain staffing requirements and assign responsibilities for program staff activities.
  • Oversee program activities, evaluate effectiveness, and identify and mitigate risks timely.
  • Ensure completion of employment-related driving duties across day, night, weekends, holidays, and extended distances.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and treat clients and staff with dignity and respect.
