Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) seeks a full-time Child Welfare Supervisor to lead CCS programs in our Chicago-area sites. You will supervise staff, develop service plans, and ensure compliance with agency, accreditation, and funding requirements.

The role requires a Master’s in social work, 3–5 years in social services, and active IL CWEL license, with strong supervisory, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in social services.
• State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
• CWEL license required.
• Supervisory experience in child welfare preferred.
• Ability to respond to client emergencies 24/7 and attend court.
• Excellent organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Background check clearance (criminal and CANTS) required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized training and feedback to assigned staff.
• Review and evaluate assigned staff.
• Ensure productivity requirements are met.
• Provide supervision and support to staff for services per plan and policies.
• Compile, complete, and submit data, billings, reports, and documentation.
• Communicate with the Program Director and agencies regarding status.
• Collaborate with management on programmatic, fiscal, organizational and community issues.
