Job summary

Divergent is seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler to drive tactical scheduling and long-range planning for our advanced manufacturing team in the Long Beach area. You will align inputs from Demand with shop-floor capacity, coordinating with machining, inspection, assembly, and final inspection stages to ensure on-time delivery of machined hardware.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production planning or scheduling in aerospace or high-complexity manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP and MES systems.
• Expertise in production planning, forecasting, and schedule optimization.
• High proficiency with Excel, MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Ability to navigate and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduling expertise for machining, inspection, and assembly work centers to support forecasted build plans and production readiness.
• Aid in developing and maintaining work center schedules for machined parts, in-process inspection, assembly, and final inspection.
• Help prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for these work centers, aligning with Program and Planning Teams.
• Host daily production standups and cross-functional readiness meetings to communicate status and resolve blockers.
• Push/pull jobs within machining, inspection, assembly, and shipping to reduce WIP and meet targets.
• Validate MRP dates reflect shop-floor conditions and adjust with Planning Team to avoid downstream misalignment.
• Investigate part shortages and labor constraints; coordinate with planning and manufacturing engineering to resolve gaps.
• Provide schedule visibility and performance updates to shop leads and senior leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support tools for real-time tracking, capacity planning, and resource forecasting.
• Identify initiatives to improve quality, throughput, and efficiency within focused work centers.
• Drive flow improvements across machining and assembly to reduce WIP and improve lead times.
• Communicate daily execution priorities to machine shop, inspectors, and assembly supervisors.
