Job summary

3A Composites USA is seeking a Sr Production Planner/Scheduler in Glasgow, KY to develop and manage production schedules across all plant areas, aligning customer demand with capacity and materials. The role emphasizes pull planning, lean concepts, and NWC control within SAP.

You will build line loads, coordinate cross-functional handoffs, and drive on-time delivery while minimizing inventory and scrap. Strong analytical and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, or materials management.
• SAP experience preferred, including production planning, inventory control, production orders, purchase requisitions, and sales order acknowledgement.
• Power BI and advanced Excel skills to analyze schedules, inventory, NWC, and production data.
• Working knowledge of net working capital (NWC) drivers and lead times; translate planning decisions into inventory and cash impact.
• Working knowledge of pull planning and lean concepts; experience moving a plant from push to pull planning is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization skills; cross-functional collaboration.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and communicate production schedules for all plant areas based on orders, inventory, materials, and capacity.
• Sequence runs across products, sizes, and thicknesses to reduce changeovers and scrap.
• Plan line loading and capacity; coordinate hand-offs to avoid bottlenecks and idle time.
• Use a pull approach: release production and material replenishment based on actual orders and signals.
• Balance make-to-stock and make-to-order production to meet custom orders while minimizing inventory.
• Control NWC by setting targets, safety stock, reorder points, and lean runs.
• Align purchases and release to actual demand and supplier lead times; report NWC impact.
• Review sales orders, set lead times, create purchase requisitions and production orders in SAP.
• Monitor schedules daily; resolve material/capacity constraints with Purchasing and suppliers.
• Keep SAP data accurate; support cycle counts, inventory, and shipping documentation.
• Own SAP planning parameters; review regularly for realism.
• Participate in S&OP/demand review to translate demand into plans.
• Build and maintain reports in Power BI/Excel on schedule adherence and inventory.
• Partner with Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, Technical Services, and IT to improve scheduling.
