Job summary

Mettler-Toledo Rainin in Oakland, CA is seeking a Production Planner to join the Planning Team. The role focuses on planning and releasing production orders in line with material requirements planning, while adjusting for constraints and material availability.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize capacity, manage inventory, and forecast future demand, leveraging ERP (SAP) and Excel skills to support production efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of material and demand planning.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
• Familiar with Root Cause Analysis tools.
• Analytical ability to run ad hoc reports and interpret data.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and interpret the MRP workbench to create and monitor discrete jobs.
• Participate in production planning SQDC meetings with updates.
• Maintain positive working relationships across teams.
• Evaluate work centers for capacity optimization.
• Schedule production orders with input from manufacturing.
• Release production orders with complete material availability.
• Review orders with missing components and coordinate with Procurement.
• Maintain accurate start and completion dates on orders.
• Forecast future demand with inventory management insights.
