Job summary

Confidential is seeking a proactive Production Planner to develop and manage production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer due dates and capacity. The role requires independent judgment, strong ownership, and coordination with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, Receiving, and customer-facing teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production planning, scheduling, or related manufacturing experience
• Experience in a low-volume, high-mix or job-shop environment
• Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, routings, work centers, setup/run times, capacity planning, and constraints
• Understanding of raw-material specs, stock forms, quantities, and lead times
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience creating, releasing, scheduling, and tracking work orders
• Strong data-analysis, documentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain realistic production schedules based on due dates, capacity, setup/run times, material availability, tooling, and outside-processing
• Review open sales orders, work orders, routings, and WIP to set priorities and achievable dates
• Create and release manufacturing work orders in the ERP system ensuring materials and resources are ready
• Sequence jobs across work centers and shifts considering shared resources, inspection, and downstream steps
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Receiving on raw-material requirements, availability, and receipt dates
• Monitor progress, identify stalled work, and take action to maintain material flow and on-time delivery
