Job summary

freshexpress in California is seeking a Production Scheduler to create and maintain the short-term production plan, balance line capacities, manage safety stock, and coordinate with Purchasing, QA, and Shipping. Responsibilities include daily scheduling, capacity analysis, improving schedule adherence, and coaching team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university or equivalent experience required.
• 2-4 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a food related manufacturing environment with emphasis on capacity analysis, production planning and multiple line scheduling.
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills for opportunities as they develop.
• Ability to manage fast-paced, high-turn environments and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain short-term planning, rough-cut analysis, daily production line schedules and plant capacities.
• Maintain Finished Goods Safety Stock Levels based on next day's demand.
• Coordinate daily with multiple departments to ensure goals are met (order fill, safety, inventory, D&D, cost reduction).
• Develop and communicate schedules, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform capacity analysis and adjust schedules to meet plant needs.
• Coach and mentor new team members on scheduling/planning processes.
