Job summary

Lester Electrical in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Production Manager to lead production operations across multiple departments and shifts. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred; or high school diploma with seven years’ manufacturing/ops experience.
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated management or advanced production leadership experience.
• Leadership, interpersonal, coaching, and team-building skills for cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of high-volume manufacturing, planning, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to coordinate complex activities across multiple departments and shifts.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with data interpretation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reports and policy explanations.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred) and common business software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for production operations and managers.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute approved production schedules to hit safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost goals.
• Coordinate activities across departments and shifts, resolving conflicts in staffing, equipment, and priorities.
• Monitor key production metrics (safety, quality, throughput, downtime) and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate ERP transactions, reporting, and inventory movements.
• Collaborate with scheduling, purchasing, quality, maintenance, HR, and other functions for readiness and issue resolution.
• Evaluate capacity and staffing, and implement staffing plans, shift structures, and cross-training.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement across processes, setup, and automation.
