Job summary

Werner, headquartered in Appleton, WI, seeks a Product Manager to drive business strategy for designated product lines and optimize profit to meet growth objectives.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience to develop plans, analyze markets, and support product training while expanding partnerships and managing opportunities across the region. Some travel within the territory is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, business administration, and 1–3 years of related field experience.
• 3–5 years’ relevant experience working with electrical products in lieu of a degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel regularly through assigned territory. Some overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute business plan and strategy for designated product lines.
• Identify and manage strategic partnerships with vendors and manufacturers.
• Responsible for sales and gross margin enhancement for designated GL codes.
• Conduct in-depth market research on products, pricing, and market success to gain insight into customer preferences and interests.
• Produce competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
• Collaborate with Marketing in deploying product strategy for new and emerging products within designated product lines.
• Provide pre-sales support to customers including: review of customer project specifications and documents, preparing and presenting bills of materials, providing solutions based on customer needs.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with Customer Experience Specialists and Account Management to implement sales and product strategies and meet customer requests and needs.
• Design, manage, and deliver technical training to internal and external customers in support of product line.
• Utilize the customer relationship manager (CRM) tool to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, customer interactions, and support responses from customers in assigned region.
• Participate in designated sales planning meetings with Account Managers within assigned territory to understand new products and programs and determine needs of customers and Account Managers’ accounts.
