Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks a Product Counsel Lead to join our legal team in Sunnyvale. You will provide strategic legal guidance to Product, Engineering and Marketing on privacy, IP, contracts, and regulatory matters related to autonomy and AI.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development, manage the patenting program, and supervise external counsel in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ of law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably in technology companies.
• Experience counseling business partners on domestic and international laws, regulations, and best practices for implementing and ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to advance large, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance to Product, Engineering and Marketing on privacy, copyright, accessibility, data protection and emerging technologies.
• Lead cross-functional projects related to compliance, safety and IP protection integrated into product development workflows.
• Review product integrations and customer/inbound contracts for compliance with laws and contractual obligations.
• Translate legal advice into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams, often under tight deadlines.
• Manage our patenting program and advise on IP strategy.
• Build policies and playbooks that address risk while enabling innovation.
• Collaborate with external sources, regulators and industry groups to stay current on global developments relevant to autonomy and AI.
• Assist with M&A transactions.
