Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Product Counsel Lead to join the legal team. You will support Product, Engineering, and Marketing with strategic legal guidance on autonomy, AI, privacy, and IP matters, reporting to the General Counsel in a fast-growing startup.

The role requires a business-minded, execution-focused lawyer with 8+ years of experience and a JD, capable of working independently while collaborating with internal teams and external regulators.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience in tech.
• Adviser to engineering, product, design, security, privacy teams on regulatory requirements and risk mitigation.
• Experience counseling business partners on domestic and international laws and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Advise Product, Engineering, and Marketing on legal issues.
• Lead cross-functional compliance projects and ensure integration into product workflows.
• Review product integrations for legal compliance and IP rights.
• Translate legal guidance into actionable policies for product/engineering teams.
• Manage patenting program and advise on IP strategy.
• Develop policies and playbooks addressing risk and innovation.
• Review customer contracts, inbound contracts, and marketing materials for compliance.
• Support a small legal team in a high-growth startup.
• Engage with regulators and industry groups on AI/autonomy law developments.
• Assist with M&A transactions.
