Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of buying experience.
• Experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchases goods, materials, components, or services with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Completes purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders and expediting deliveries.
• Handles over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates and prices, and reports changes promptly.
• Authorizes payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.
• Monitors supplier performance and maintains records of supplier meetings to ensure requirements are met.
• Issues RFQ/RFPs and supports decisions to select sources meeting cost, quality, and delivery needs.
• Reviews reports for shortages and excess and acts to expedite or disposition material.
• Conducts supplier performance and business plan reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Implements continuous improvement via change management and best practices.
• Maintains supplier relationships to drive cost reductions and open communication.
