Job summary

Marlen International, based in Riverside, MO, seeks a Buyer to ensure materials are ordered and received to support customer needs. This high-volume role requires organization and a solid understanding of the business, with a focus on cost management and supplier collaboration.

The Buyer will manage PO replenishment, liaise with suppliers, and drive supplier performance while working with Sales and Production on projects.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree in engineering, supply chain or business preferred with 5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent amount in a combination of education and experience.
• Solid analytical skills with expertise in MS Excel.
• Understanding of ERP purchasing and planning modules. Experience in Syteline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop buying strategies and identify opportunities for cost reduction and negotiation.
• Handle pricing, terms and other contractual issues with suppliers; manage transportation costs and total landed cost.
• Manage purchase order replenishment to balance inventory (supply) with customer demand; act as liaison between Marlen International and suppliers; resolve discrepancies.
