Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Manager, Supply Chain: Procurement & Sourcing to lead and deliver project work streams for complex client engagements in private equity, focusing on procurement and supply-chain improvement. You will collaborate with private equity teams to craft creative solutions that drive value for portfolio companies.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, deep sourcing experience, and the ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined consulting and/or industry operating experience.
• Preference for industry roles within Sourcing and Procurement functions.
• Advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 – highly desirable.
• MBA preferred.
• Experience with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
• Deep direct materials industry knowledge (steel, resin, chemicals, packaging, etc).
• Proven track record of leading sustainable high-impact sourcing.
• End-to-end procurement strategy design.
• Strong analytical and business process mapping skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s procurement organization and sourcing capabilities.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with forecasting, demand/supply planning, inventory management, and logistics.
• Develop and manage sourcing and procurement efforts.
• Lead supplier identification, contract/pricing negotiations, and vendor relations.
• Develop implementation plans to drive procurement and sourcing changes.
• Lead analyses or guide teams on analysis depending on project scope.
