Job summary

BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, seeks a Procurement & Materials Leader to drive procurement activities, supplier performance, inventory strategy and materials management to meet customer commitments and schedules. This is a hands-on leadership role balancing strategic leadership with active day-to-day purchasing and supplier management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, materials management, or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership experience leading procurement, purchasing, or supply chain teams.
• Experience in discrete manufacturing; engineered-to-order background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach a team of buyers and procurement professionals.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and supply continuity.
• Own processes for supplier performance, negotiations, and commercial terms.
• Oversee materials availability, shortage management, and supplier recovery efforts.
• Drive Lean, visual management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide strategic input on long-term sourcing and supplier optimization.
