Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist – OEM to develop and execute sourcing strategies for OEM equipment and services integrated into BW Packaging Systems projects. You will lead supplier sourcing, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with Automation, Applications, Sales and Project teams across Romeoville, Lynchburg and Akron, with up to 20% travel.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in purchasing or strategic sourcing, MRP/ERP knowledge, excellent negotiation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Five years of Purchasing, or Strategic Sourcing experience.
MRP and supply chain knowledge.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Develop sourcing strategies for OEM equipment and services balancing total cost, quality, tech capability, delivery, service, and risk.
Negotiate supplier contracts including pricing, terms, delivery, and penalties.
Serve as liaison between Packaging's Automation/Integration team and suppliers through order process.
Analyze requirements, place and manage purchase orders in ERP, and expedite as needed.
Monitor supplier performance, drive cost reductions, and ensure alignment with project timelines.
