Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Procurement Buyer to lead category strategy, end-to-end sourcing, and complex contracting across defence and energy programmes. The role provides senior procurement advice to programmes and bids, driving compliant, cost-effective supply chain outcomes.

In this position you will collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Quality, Security and Legal teams, manage high-value procurements, and mobilise capability growth while upholding governance and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MCIPS or Chartered status preferred.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field.
• Extensive procurement leadership in regulated environments (defence, energy, infrastructure).
• Experience leading strategic sourcing, category management and supplier transformation.
• Strong contract negotiation experience, with knowledge of NEC/FIDIC.
• Proven supplier relationship, risk and resilience management.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-value procurement activity across full lifecycle (sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contracting).
• Provide senior procurement advice to programmes, bids and capture teams.
• Shape pricing strategies, supply chain solutions and mobilisation plans.
• Ensure governance, compliance and regulatory standards are met.
