Job summary

Amentum seeks a seasoned Deputy Procurement/Contracts Manager to support the execution and oversight of the organization’s procurement and subcontracting program. You will ensure compliance with FAR/DEAR, DOE directives, and the approved purchasing system while providing day-to-day leadership to procurement personnel.

Based in a federal contracting environment, you will collaborate with DOE and internal teams to drive compliant, auditable procurement actions and risk‑aware decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Contracts, or related field; higher education may substitute some experience.
• Minimum 10 years of federal procurement/subcontracting experience.
• Experience working under FAR/DEAR within a DOE or federal contractor environment.
• Experience supporting an approved purchasing system.
• Knowledge of contract types, source selection, and cost/price analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement lifecycle activities including planning, solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DEAR, DOE directives and internal procedures.
• Review procurement documentation, including price reasonableness, sole source justifications, and source selection records.
• Assist in acquisition strategy development and contract-type evaluation.
• Oversee subcontract administration, including modifications and funding actions.
• Ensure proper flow-down of FAR/DEAR clauses and audit readiness for DOE programs.
• Interface with DOE Contracting Officer, project teams, and functional organizations; participate in conferences.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance to procurement staff.
