Job summary

City of Austin, through its Austin Financial Services, seeks an experienced procurement manager to lead supervisory, professional, and administrative staff and to provide advisory and technical support to department customers and contractors.

You will oversee formal and informal sourcing, contract formation and administration, category management, policy development, and performance reporting, while building strong relationships across city departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus six years of related experience, with supervisory/managerial exposure.
• Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of non-supervisory/managerial experience.
• Professional procurement experience in governmental settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement teams and provide advisory and technical support to customers and contractors.
• Oversee formal and informal source selection processes and contract administration.
• Develop and monitor procurement plans, category management, and performance reporting.
