Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Advanced Buyer / Advanced Procurement Specialist for a manufacturing facility in Kansas City, KS. You will lead daily sourcing and purchasing activities, run MRP-based plans, and ensure material availability for production and service.

The role partners with Engineering to source prototype components for rapid design iterations and manages transition from prototype to mass production with a focus on cost, quality, and supply continuity.

Qualifications

• BS degree in supply chain, engineering, or related field and 7 years procurement experience.
• Advanced knowledge of MRP and its application in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills; proficient in Excel and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily sourcing and purchasing for a wide range of commodities.
• Run MRP/MPS to develop purchasing plans ensuring material availability.
• Create and manage purchase orders and resolve shortages.
• Collaborate with Engineering to source prototype components for NPI.
• Manage transition from prototype to mass production with supply continuity.
• Negotiate LTAs, volume discounts, and payment terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and minimize obsolescence.
• Develop, refine, and document purchasing processes and workflows.
