Job summary

AIREKO Companies is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to ensure mechanical construction projects have the required materials, equipment, and services. You will manage sourcing, quotations, purchasing, supplier coordination, and delivery, collaborating with Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations, and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction procurement, strong Excel skills, and proven negotiation ability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction procurement or purchasing.
• Experience in mechanical construction procurement preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or related field preferred.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage requisitions, obtain and evaluate quotations, and issue purchase orders.
• Source materials, equipment, tools, and services for mechanical construction projects.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor purchase orders from approval through delivery to ensure timely arrivals.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations, and suppliers to meet project requirements.
• Follow up on material availability, production, shipping, invoicing, and quality issues.
• Monitor purchasing costs and delivery schedules to support budgets and timelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, wholesalers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Identify alternative products, suppliers, and strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing information, supplier qualifications, and order status.
• Research new products, suppliers, and industry trends related to mechanical construction.
• Prepare procurement reports and provide management with updates on purchasing activities.
• Assist procurement planning and anticipate material and equipment needs throughout the project lifecycle.
