We’re seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and material‑planning activities for complex construction projects. This person will build and execute procurement strategies from preconstruction through delivery, ensuring critical materials, equipment, vendors, and purchase orders support project cost, schedule, and field execution requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Develop procurement plans that align with project phases, design releases, funding milestones, construction sequencing, and delivery requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors for materials, equipment, services, storage, staging, and fabrication needs; secure competitive pricing and reliable availability.
- Identify long‑lead materials early, establish required order dates, and maintain visibility from submittal through fabrication, shipment, and delivery.
- Manage material submittals in coordination with engineering, project management, vendors, and client stakeholders to avoid approval‑related delays.
- Coordinate owner‑furnished and contractor‑furnished material requirements, delivery schedules, and responsibilities across the project team.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders once approvals and funding are in place, ensuring terms, specifications, quantities, and delivery commitments are accurate.
- Monitor supplier performance, pricing changes, lead‑time risk, and commercial issues; elevate concerns before they affect the project.
- Provide clear procurement updates to project leadership on material status, purchasing activity, risks, and upcoming decisions.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in construction procurement, purchasing, vendor management, and material planning.
- Strong understanding of long‑lead equipment and materials, project schedules, and the relationship between procurement decisions and field execution.
- Ability to assess supplier pricing, capacity, lead times, quality, and commercial terms.
- Strong negotiation, organization, documentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across estimating, engineering, project management, scheduling, field teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, ERP or procurement systems, and project‑management platforms.
- Experience supporting electrical construction projects is preferred.
