Job summary

The Trevor Project is seeking a Director of Procurement & Spend Strategy to lead a centralized procurement function across the U.S. and Mexico.

You will manage a ~$30M spend, 150 vendor relationships, and drive strategic sourcing, cost avoidance, and governance with a focus on financial accountability. Reporting to the CFO, you will implement CLM software, establish controls, and build a proactive procurement partnership with Legal, People, and Senior Leadership to safeguard every operational

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Experience leading, developing, coaching, and managing a team of procurement professionals.
• Proven track record of managing an addressable spend of $15M to $30M+ and overseeing 150+ contracts.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings, cost avoidance, and working capital optimization at scale in SaaS/tech/nonprofit environments.
• Expertise in complex contract literacy and collaboration with legal teams.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and CLM software.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the procurement function, overseeing a Procurement Manager and a high-velocity intake pipeline.
• Develop and refine organization-wide category strategies to drive cost optimization (software, consultants, marketing, facilities, equipment).
• Partner with CFO and Finance to analyze spend across departments and design optimization systems.
• Govern procurement policies, spend thresholds, approvals, compliance, and documentation.
• Oversee ~150 vendor relationships, conduct strategic negotiations, and manage supplier programs.
• Oversee CLM tool implementation to manage contracts, expirations, renewals, and workflows.
• Educate senior leadership on procurement procedures and financial accountability across US and Mexico teams.
• Establish executive-level reporting on pipeline velocity, renewals, and financial impact.
• Foster ethical practices, discretion, inclusion, and Trevor's values across operations.
