Job summary

Precision Advanced Machining is seeking a Director of Procurement to own the supply chain strategy for a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer. This is a hands-on leadership role—you'll negotiate long-term agreements with raw material suppliers, manage risk in a tight metals market, and build out a procurement function that can scale with growth and support AS9100/ITAR compliance requirements.

Own end-to-end procurement strategy for materials, outside processing, tooling and MRO; lead

Qualifications

• 8+ years in procurement/supply chain with leadership experience.
• Experience in aerospace/defense or regulated manufacturing.
• Direct LTAs negotiation and metals/raw materials supply chains.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ITAR/EAR, and DFARS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement strategy for materials, tooling, and MRO.
• Negotiate LTAs with strategic suppliers for pricing and supply continuity.
• Lead supplier qualification, approval and performance management.
• Manage supplier risk in single-source and constrained markets.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality on part introductions and make/buy decisions.
• Drive cost reduction while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
• Build and mentor a team of buyers/planners and establish KPIs.
• Oversee inventory strategy across raw, WIP, and finished goods.
• Coordinate with Finance on cost forecasting and supplier terms.
• Ensure DFARS, ITAR, and government contracting compliance.
