Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a Procurement Contract Manager to develop and implement a robust contract creation process, including negotiation, peer review, legal review, and business unit review. The role includes training procurement staff and managing high-visibility contract events across the company.

The position focuses on reducing risk, maximizing value from vendor contracts, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely completion of contracting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, law or related field or equivalent experience.
• Six years of related experience in procurement, including two years in a contract manager/leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of basic contract terminology and negotiation tactics; preference for utility terms and software licensing.
• Strong influencing and leadership skills; ability to drive change and manage contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the review and approval of contracts by administering the peer review process and develop a contract training program.
• Lead the contracting process improvements and collaborate with legal on contract language and policies.
• Coordinate and/or lead high-level contract events and strategies with business units on expiring contracts.
• Coordinate supplier contract management, document storage, updates to templates, and monitor supplier performance.
• Communicate with senior management and business units to ensure contracts are updated, improved and replaced as required.
