Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Lake Charles, LA, seeks an LC Buyer (Finance) to provide procurement support across assigned locations. You will issue purchase orders, select vendors, negotiate terms, obtain materials at lowest cost while ensuring quality and timely delivery, and maintain records and vendor prequalification.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or 4 years related experience), strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Power BI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or 4 years of job-related experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with the development and execution of contracts and purchase orders.
• Good analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; GEP Smart or similar e-Procurement solution experience and Power BI preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC).

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions and processes SAP purchase orders for materials and services.
• Creates and maintains non-complex contracts consistent with customer requirements; negotiates with vendors.
• Manages supplier population and participates in pre-qualification and bidding processes.
• Solicits bids and maintains bid files to ensure fair awards.
• Analyzes procurement patterns to establish strategic contracts and value.
• Resolves purchasing issues and provides expediting support as needed.
• Supports special projects and on-call procurement activities.
