Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support all refinery locations, including Lake Charles, with purchase orders, vendor negotiations, contract administration, and supplier performance analysis.

The role focuses on achieving best value contracts, timely deliveries, and compliant procurement processes using SAP, Power BI, and GEP Smart. Remote options may be available; strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or 4 years of job-related experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with development and execution of contracts and purchase orders.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage data.
• Excellent communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient with SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with GEP Smart or similar e-Procurement tooling and Power BI preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions and process purchase orders in SAP to secure best price and timely delivery.
• Create and maintain non-complex contracts and negotiate terms with qualified vendors.
• Evaluate suppliers, perform market research, and support supplier base management.
• Solicit bids, analyze proposals, and maintain complete bid files and ethics standards.
• Resolve purchasing issues and unblock invoices; provide expediting support when needed.
• Support special projects and on-call procurement as required.
