Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Chicago, IL is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement of supplies, services, vendor contracts and equipment for the center. The role is salaried and exempt, reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager/Director.

You will prepare bids, solicit quotations, negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor records to meet contractual requirements. A high school diploma and at least one year in purchasing are required; government procurement experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of purchasing or related experience.
• Experience with Government procurement regulations preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Responsibilities

• Procure all supplies, services, vendor contracts and equipment for the center.
• Prepare and administer all purchase order contracts, subcontracts, lease/rental agreements and consultant contracts for equipment, service, repairs, utilities, and construction work in compliance with requirements and clauses of the prime contract pertaining to procurement.
• Solicit bids and quotations, screen offers, and award purchase orders or subcontracts to obtain sources to operate the center per contract.
• Gathers data for and assists the F&A Manager/Director in the negotiation of contracts and leases.
• Establishes and maintains records of purchase requisitions, solicitations, and awards for audit compliance with contractual requirements and center policies.
