Amentum in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Purchaser to support a government contract based in Mayport. You will review requisitions, negotiate with suppliers, analyze offers, and maintain records of goods ordered and received.

Requirements include a high school diploma, two years of purchasing experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong knowledge of supply chain concepts. Proficiency with ERP systems (MAXIMO and PeopleSoft) and Microsoft Office is required; US citizenship is required for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ work experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar role.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to network and influence people.
• Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• Proficient in MAXIMO (preferred).
• Proficiency in Peoplesoft.

Responsibilities

• Review and process purchase requisitions and update management on order statuses.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
• Analyze and evaluate offers from suppliers to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Forecast upcoming demand and manage inventory levels to ensure production continuity.
