Job summary

City of San José seeks an Analyst I/II in the Finance Department’s Purchasing Division. You will administer the P-Card program, facilitate RFQ/RFB procurements, and provide analytic support across the procurement lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and strong analytical, communication, and MS Office skills. You will handle vendor questions and contribute to process improvements in a dynamic city government setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Analyst II requires a Bachelor's Degree plus two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Substitution: additional applicable experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of professional/technical principles and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the City’s Procurement Card (P-Card) Program and related functions.
  • Facilitate procurements for various City departments including RFQ and RFB processes.
  • Provide admin and analytic support during procurement, including drafting memos and posting documents.
  • Support purchase order creation, vendor inquiries, and data validation.
  • Perform other Analyst duties and special projects as required.
