Job summary

The City of San José Finance Department seeks an Analyst I/II in the Purchasing Division to support procurement operations and processes. The role focuses on administering the Procurement Card program, facilitating RFQ/RFB solicitations, and providing analytic support throughout the procurement lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and strong communication and data-analysis skills, with a collaborative mindset to work across departments and respond to changing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Additional years of professional staff analytic or administrative experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Experience with procurement processes, audits, and data analysis is a plus.
• Familiarity with e-Procurement systems and documentation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Administer the City’s Procurement Card (P-Card) Program and related functions.
• Facilitate procurements across City departments including RFQ/RFB processes per requirements.
• Provide administrative and analytic support during procurement, drafting memos, and posting documents.
• Support purchase order creation, vendor inquiries, data validation, and related activities.
• Perform other Analyst duties and special projects as required.
