Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Probate Paralegal with strong experience in probate and trust administration to join its Private Client Services group in Washington. The role involves coordinating client meetings, asset allocation, trust funding, and maintaining compliance with state probate rules.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, a paralegal certificate preferred, and at least 3 years of probate experience, including tax return preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of probate and trust administration experience in a law firm.
• Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• Recent experience with tax preparation software.
• Experience with sophisticated and technical probate issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintains positive contact with clients and observes confidentiality of client matters.
• Coordinates and attends client conferences and assists attorneys in preparing for client meetings.
• Administers allocation of assets and trust funding and coordinates asset transfers.
• Maintains current knowledge of probate proceedings in the State of Washington.
• Prepares federal and state estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns.
• Keeps accurate time records.
