Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Pharmacist, Principal to oversee specialty drug management across pharmacy and medical benefit areas. The role reports to the Director, Pharmacy COHC & Specialty Drug Management and focuses on improving affordability, access, and member experience.

Ideal candidates will have a PharmD, CA RPh licensure, and 4+ years in clinical and specialty pharmacy, with strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an accredited U.S. school.
• Active California RPh license.
• 4+ years in clinical pharmacy.
• Experience with specialty pharmacy and managed care.
• Understanding of PBM concepts, networks, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee specialty pharmacy networks and limited distribution drug access.
• Lead specialty-at-retail initiatives and direct distribution partnerships.
• Evaluate program value, performance drivers, and vendor management.
• Present to executive stakeholders and drive strategic pharmacy initiatives.
