Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Pharmacist, Principal within the Formulary Strategy and Pharmacy & Therapeutics team. You will lead drug reviews, evaluate evidence, guidelines, and budget impact data to support formulary decisions.

Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders will drive pharmacoeconomic and value-based assessments aligned with our formulary strategy. The role emphasizes leadership, clinical knowledge, and analytic excellence, with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Requires Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Requires active California Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in good standing.
• Requires 4 years of experience in clinical pharmacy.
• Experience in a managed care setting with direct client/provider interface preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and capabilities.
• Thorough clinical knowledge regarding therapeutic use of drugs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project/program management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including in a hybrid environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of drug and therapeutic class reviews by evaluating clinical evidence and budget impact data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop pharmacoeconomic and value-based assessments.
• Support Blue Shield of California's formulary strategy and mission.
• Contribute to formulary decision making with evidence-based assessments.
