Job summary

The Hagerman Group is expanding its Louisville team and seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction process from pursuit through construction handoff. This client-facing leadership role shapes project strategy, budgets, and partner involvement to set projects up for long-term success.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in construction, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of preconstruction, design coordination, and estimating.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive construction experience including customer-facing leadership roles.
• Strong communicator and collaborator with ability to lead teams and influence outcomes.
• Deep understanding of preconstruction, design coordination, and estimating processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead pursuit strategies, RFP responses, and client interviews.
• Own the preconstruction process from concept through handoff to operations.
• Oversee design coordination, estimating, procurement strategies, and early trade partner involvement.
• Develop conceptual budgets and detailed estimates while tracking cost trends.
• Collaborate with Estimating, Operations, Safety, and Purchasing to align scope and schedules.
• Provide input on cost, constructability, and means and methods.
• Lead and develop preconstruction team members for smooth transition to construction.
