Job summary

MCL Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to shape outcomes before construction begins and to build a team that sets projects up for success. You will lead estimating across a diverse commercial portfolio, develop cost models, conceptual budgets, and strategic pricing aligned with market conditions and MCL’s value approach.

You’ll mentor a growing team, collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers, and influence strategy, delivery methods, and technology adoption to keep MCL

Qualifications

• 10+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience in commercial construction.
• 5+ years leading and developing estimating teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Strong command of modern estimating software and construction technology.
• Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, GMP, IPD delivery methods.
• Collaborative leadership style with owners and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.
• Develop detailed cost models, conceptual budgets, and strategic pricing.
• Guide early design collaboration with owners, architects, and engineers.
• Oversee workload management, quality control, and deliverable timelines.
• Champion Lean, VDC integration, and process improvements.
