Job summary

MCL Construction seeks a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead early concept work through GMP or final pricing in Omaha, NE. You will develop budgets, pricing strategies, and partner with owners and design teams to optimize scope, constructability, and value.

You will guide preconstruction teams, drive pursuits, and advance estimating tech to strengthen project outcomes. You’ll collaborate with operations to ensure seamless handoffs and contribute to complex commercial projects across

Qualifications

10+ years of commercial construction experience in preconstruction or estimating.
Proven experience leading projects from conceptual budgeting through GMP or final pricing.
Strong knowledge of estimating, cost modeling, constructability, value management, and market pricing.
Proven ability to lead and develop preconstruction or estimating teams.
Strong client-facing experience with owners and design teams, including pursuits, proposals, presentations, and interviews.
Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, GMP, or other integrated delivery methods.
Healthcare, mission critical/data center, federal, education, or other complex commercial project experience is highly valued.
Proficiency with estimating software, VDC, and construction technology.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction from early concept through GMP or final proposal.
Develop conceptual budgets, estimates, and pricing strategies that position projects for success.
Partner with owners and design teams to drive scope, constructability, value management, and cost.
Lead and develop preconstruction teams while managing workload and priorities across active pursuits.
Drive pursuit strategy, proposals, and client presentations to help win the right work.
Identify risks and opportunities early and develop solutions that improve project outcomes.
Partner with Operations to ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction to execution.
Advance estimating technology, VDC, and processes that strengthen preconstruction.
