Job summary

GBA Builders in Lenexa, KS seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager / Conceptual Estimator to lead preconstruction activities, craft high-level ROMs, and develop cost schedules and risk assessments for new business pursuits. You will partner with business development, marketing, estimating, project management, design partners, and senior leadership to drive competitive, executable proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• Experience supervising staff with increasing responsibility.
• Strong background in project scheduling and conceptual estimating.
• Proven estimating and buyout experience.
• Understanding contract terms with negotiation experience with vendors and stakeholders.
• Biotech/Pharmaceutical experience preferred but not required.
• OSHA 30-hour Certification required.
• GC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and mentorship to preconstruction managers, project managers, estimators, and interns.
• Support strategic pursuits with competitive, feasible solutions aligned to standards.
• Develop high level ROMs at 0-30% design milestones with A/E partners and the pursuit team.
• Collaborate with pursuits, BD, and executives to align strategies with client objectives.
• Develop and review preliminary schedules and milestones with PMs for constructability.
• Identify and reflect risks in pricing, schedules, and mitigations.
• Participate in technical proposals and client presentations to showcase capabilities.
• Build relationships with clients, A/E partners, consultants, and stakeholders.
