Job summary

GBA Builders in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction across Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Industrial, and Federal projects. You will develop complete estimates for submissions, guide the estimating team, mentor staff, and ensure bids are accurate, timely, and competitive while upholding company standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, compiling quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor proposals, building bid spreadsheets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with 12+ years of experience.
• Experience supervising staff with increasing levels of responsibility.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex data, plans, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating team to ensure complete and timely estimate deliverables.
• Review project plans and specs to identify scopes and takeoffs.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier proposals and build relationships.
• Develop ROMs at 0–30% design milestones with A/E partners.
• Develop bid spreadsheets and cost estimates.
• Collaborate across estimating, operations, design, and business development teams.
