Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Power Systems Engineer – Strategic Projects to support strategic utility initiatives, capital projects, and grid modernization across high-voltage transmission and substations.

The role requires 12+ years in utility/power systems, HV experience (69kV–500kV), and strong analytical and communication skills. A PE license is preferred; join a team delivering critical infrastructure with a hybrid work policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 12+ years of utility, transmission, substation, or power systems engineering experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems ranging from 69kV through 500kV.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC and utility design practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-voltage substations, transmission systems, protection and control projects.
• Perform system studies: load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, reliability assessments.
• Develop scopes, specs, design criteria, and engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate design activities through lifecycle phases and interface with stakeholders.
