Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Director, Project Management, to lead the development of long-term therapeutic area strategy and portfolio plans. This role partners with the TA VP and TEC to maximize asset value and ensure alignment with the TA strategy across ADTs and development plans.

The position requires senior leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to synthesize inputs in a complex, global environment. Collaboration with external partners to advance Total Patient Solutions is key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years (15+ years preferred) of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech with portfolio/project management expertise.
• Proven facilitative leadership in a global, matrix environment and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as TEC member, shaping long-term TA strategy and agenda.
• Advises Asset Development Teams on Playbook use and alignment of TPP with TA strategy.
• Leads external collaborations and partnerships to expand disease pathway understanding.
• Contributes to Disease Opportunity Profiles and investment theses for TA.
• Coordinates competitive landscape assessments for TEC review.
• Drives adoption of novel tools/tech to accelerate pipeline progression.
• Anticipates external environmental changes (regulatory, payer) and informs strategy.
• Oversees long-range portfolio planning and documentation with Clinical TA VP and DSG.
• Collaborates to nurture academic, industry and scientific partnerships for Total Patient Solutions.
