Job summary

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) is seeking an experienced political engagement professional to lead its political program operations, grassroots mobilization, and PAC management. You will develop lobbying priorities, draft materials for Congress, attend hearings, and coordinate events and fundraising efforts.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in political operations, strong knowledge of the federal legislative process, and superb communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, government, or related field.
• 7+ years in political operations, PAC management, grassroots advocacy or trade association govt relations.
• Strong knowledge of federal legislative process, elections environment, and advocacy strategy.
• FEC regulations and compliance knowledge or willingness to learn quickly.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop lobbying priorities, strategies, and related activities with internal teams.
• Create legislative materials—briefs, talking points, memos, and alerts for Congress and NACDS members.
• Attend hearings, briefings, and legislative meetings and report findings.
• Represent NACDS at fundraisers, policy events, and coalition gatherings; evenings/weekends may be required.
• Manage day-to-day operations of political programs, including compliance and reporting.
• Draft donor communications and maintain giving levels and benefits structures.
• Lead grassroots program strategy and grow advocate networks.
• Coordinate and execute political program events, including donor appreciation and virtual briefings.
