Job summary

City of Burlington, Vermont seeks an Executive Manager for the Burlington Police Department to provide executive-level project management, strategic leadership, and fiscal oversight in support of the Chief of Police. The role plans, coordinates, and executes department-wide initiatives to improve effectiveness and community service.

The position oversees budget development, financial management, and staff supervision, with up to one day remote per week as part of a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Completion of Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ experience preferred; or an Associate’s Degree and three years’ experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and five years’ experience in an office environment as an Executive Administrator required.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality with extremely sensitive material.
• Demonstrated knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and legal requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the strategic planning of the department with the Chief of Police and Command Staff.
• Supervise administrative and financial staff including the Purchasing & Accounts Payable Specialist, the Fire/Police Accountant, the Redaction Specialist, and the Administrative Assistant to Command Staff.
• Develop, maintain, analyze, report and problem solve on a variety of BPD information including personnel and financial data.
