Job summary

City of Burlington, Vermont seeks an Executive Manager to serve as a civilian member of the command staff for the Burlington Police Department. You will provide executive-level project management, strategic leadership, and fiscal oversight to advance organizational effectiveness and community service.

Responsibilities include budget development, supervising key staff, strategic planning, and coordinating with City leaders. This is a managerial role with up to one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with public and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead department-wide strategic planning with Chief of Police and Command Staff.
• Oversee budget development, financial management, and reporting.
• Supervise Administrative staff and related roles.
• Coordinate RFPs, contracts, and procurement processes.
• Monitor project status, timelines, and deliverables.
• Prepare annual police department budget and reporting.
